Life: How to have glowing skin like Korean??

Wonder how Korean have glowing skin?? Wanna know their secret??ㅋㅋㅋ Most of us aware that Korean think appearance, image is very important aspect in life and that's why plastic surgery procedure is very famous in South Korea. However today I'm not going to talk about this topic!ㅋㅋㅋ

Lets' go, figure out their simple routine for kept their skin glowing every day. ^^ Have anyone of you know what is Ddae su gweon (때수건)?? At first when I'm at Korea I have no idea what is this.ㅋㅋㅋ Then when I went to Daiso, I saw it but as it was written in Korean, I only know how to read it, but have no idea how to use it. ㅋㅋ I thought it somewhat like table cloth??! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

After reading at someone blog then I know what is was!ㅋㅋ However at that time I already back to my country.ㅠㅠ I am thinking how to get it without going to Korea. Then I found out that, its available in convenient store!ㅋㅋㅋ

I went to the convenient store with my office mate and look for it. ㅋㅋㅋ When I show her, she seems like blur and asking me what is this.ㅋㅋ This makes me reflect on how was my reaction when I first saw it! ㅋㅋㅋ I explain to her what is it and how to use it. DDae su gweon widely been used in public bathroom (목욕탕) in Korea.

DDae su gweon is a massage bath towel. This massage bath towel is not an ordinary towel. The texture of this ddae su gweon is different. It's rough! However its good when we applied on our skin. This towel will eliminate your dead skin or any dirt that stuck onto your skin. Just put some shower bath and scrub your skin with it, yes its quite hurt but after having it, you will feel delicate skin and it makes your skin glowing!! Try to get it and lets' start scrubbing!ㅋㅋㅋ

p/s: The method is simple isn't it? What's are you waiting for? Lets' have flawless and radiant skin today ㅋㅋ

Throwback# Places: Metasequoia Road

Have anyone of you ever imagine strolling along row of line trees like in fairy tale?? I know my start point kind of makes all of you remind those fairy tale we used to listen when we were young ㅋㅋ but hey even we were adult now, there is nothing wrong to think about fairy tale isn't it? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

During my 2013 trip, I've been to this fairy tale land! Well I didn't plan to go there and I have NO idea there is such place like this!Voila! My friend brought me there even at first, we have no idea where is the exactly location. You may read our journal here.ㅋㅋ

The place like in fairy tale that I'm talking about called Metasequoia Road located in Gwangju. Little bit history about this nice place! ^^ Early 1970, Ministry of Internal Affairs officially design the road as boulevard where they planted a row of Metasequoia trees. This road located along National Road No. 24 and its length about 4 kilometers. This beautiful landscape had been selected as one of the MOST beautiful roads in Korea on 2002.

I went to Metasequoia Road during Autumn yet the leaves still green, but I heard if you come over during summer the view will be more spectacular! For more information about Metasequoia Road you may read it here. Below are some collections that I found on the internet regarding Metasequoia Road in four seasons.

p/s: I can't find pictures of Metasequoia Road during Spring, perhaps the scenery will be similar like in summer?

Korean Food: Summer Treat!

Summer heat hits again! Time flies so fast, I still remember last year I wrote about patbingsu (팥빙수) during summer! What about this year?? For this year I would like to suggest another Korean cuisine that can beat summer heat! As I'm living outside of Korea and we were NOT four seasons country, but it doesn't mean can't be applicable here! Tell you what, we had summer whole year?? ㅋㅋㅋ Well since at my country we only had sunny days and raining days, so for us, our sunny days is summer!ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Lets' go back to our topic! What cuisine we had today?? Its noodles! For those who love to eat noodles you can try this at home! I will give the link to the recipe later. ^^ Since it's summer I believe many travelers going for summer trip. For anyone who plan to visit South Korea during summer or already there, this is one of the tip to beat Korea summer heat!

When you go to any Korean restaurant, ask them for naengmyeon (냉면)! Naengmyeon also known as cold noodles, yes you can say to them cold noodles but since you on trip and at Korea, why don't use their own words?? Even though your accent might slightly off! ㅋㅋㅋ

This noodles had been said originally come from North Korea, especially city of Pyeongyang and it became popular in South Korea after Korean war. For more information about it you may read it here. There are two version of Naengmyeon, one is spicy and another one is non spicy. For spicy lovers, the cuisine known as bibimnaengmyeon (비빔냉면) where they put gochuchang (고추장) on top of noodles, with or without meat. Non spicy lovers, frustrating??! Don't feel sad! ㅋㅋㅋ Your cuisine known as mulnaengmyeon (물냉면).

During my 2012 trip I tried mulnaengmyeon at Namiseom, for me yes it beat summer heat but personally I'm not much into it because at my country we used to eat noodles with hot broth! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Below is the link for both recipe. You can check it out. ^^ They also guide you with a video on how to make those dishes. ^^

p/s: Maybe I should try to cook it at home too?? Ahh its fasting month (Ramadhan) for me, ㅋㅋㅋ so I will save for it later. ^^* I hope you guys can try to cook it at home and enjoy with your love one ^^~ Happy Ramadhan (fasting) for Muslim readers. ^^

Guesthouse: Jeju-do

Normally, before I went for my trip I will make reservation of my lodging first but for my recent trip, I let my ex-boyfriend did for us. Since he don't like plan trip, all were spontaneous!ㅋㅋㅋ We head off to Jeju at evening and we reached there around 7:00 p.m. You may read our journal here.

For this trip I'm not going to suggest every guesthouse we stayed in Jeju, but I will just select the best guesthouse we stayed in Jeju. Practically we stayed at three guesthouse as we went to three different areas. The best guesthouse we stayed located at Seongsan-ri. For those who plan to go to Seongsan Ilchulbong, Dosirak Guesthouse were quite near with the peak.

This guesthouse also near to convenient store, a cafe & bar, seafood restaurant, police station and at intersection of main road where its quite easy for you if you need to catch up cab. The guesthouse just recently open so not many foreigner knows about it. I try to google it, for the map and link but I can't find any!ㅠㅠ Thanks to my ex, he successfully found them on the internet!ㅋㅋㅋ You may sneak peak them here.

The rooms were clean, and they provide breakfast. Of course it self-service!ㅋㅋㅋ They provide you with bread, jam, butter, milk and eggs. Yet I didn't fix our breakfast instead my ex does for us!ㅋㅋ Lazy girl!? Hahah well actually because I don't know well how to use their stove! ㅋㅋㅋ and my ex finish get ready earlier than me!ㅋㅋㅋ

I recommend this guesthouse to others except for MUSLIM TRAVELERS! This place were nice but one of the facilities provided is NOT suitable for Muslim travelers. I had experience it and I wish NOT to experience it anymore! Yes people may call me as old school mentality but honestly I can't accept this particular culture. ㅋㅋㅋ

p/s: They also provide us with sunrise tour. However we didn't went to Seongsan Ilchulbong instead off shore where Seongsan Ilchulbong is the background.
